As more cities are implementing community quarantine and partial or total lockdown, most of us are advised to stay at home.
This may not be new to those of us who work from home but it would surely feel different for those who are used to working in offices, in establishments and private companies that require you to commute and report to work during weekdays or even weekends.
There are so many things you can do at home during this time and if watching Netflix is on your list, you’ve come to the right place. 😉
I love watching different movies and series when I have free time and since most of us have free time because of the quarantine or lockdown, I’m sharing my top ten Netflix series that I’ve watched for the past weeks and months in case you’re looking for new series’ to watch. 🙂
Locke & Key
“Based on the best-selling graphic novels, Locke & Key follows 3 siblings who, after the murder of their father, move to their ancestral home only to find the house has magical keys that give them a vast array of powers and abilities.”
I love the plot of this story but I feel like the execution could be better. I’m excited for the next season and let me know if you like it if you decide to watch it 🙂
The Circle
“Truth, lies, and influencer ties—players will be whoever and do whatever it takes to win in The Circle, a new reality-competition series.”
Now this is something I thought I wouldn’t enjoy but ended up binge-watching the episodes 🙂 There is something about reality shows that’s really fun to watch. I just started The Circle Brazil and will probably do another blogpost about it.
Interior Design Masters
“Interior Design Masters brings together some of the UK’s most talented up and coming designers as they compete to win a life-changing design contract with a prestigious commercial client.”
I love design. I love watching how plans come to life. And this series, for me, just hits the spot. I’ve watched Tiny Homes and other real estate series but this easily is one of my favourites!
Crash Landing On You
“The Paris Hilton of South Korea meets an elite North Korean military officer — it’s an unlikely pairing if there ever was one, but Ri Jeong Hyeok (Hyun Bin) is all Yun Se-ri (Son Ye-jin) has in this mysterious country, and love blooms in the most unexpected places. Crash-landing on top of someone in a strange place will do that to you.”
This didn’t bag the 1st spot in Netflix Philippines for no reason. Even though the characters are quite familiar, and may be similar to other series, but the story is unique and spot on. I may have shed a few tears, okay maybe a lot ^_^, towards the end episodes of the series. I still replay my favourite scenes until today because that’s how I am HAHA.
Inside Bill’s Brain: Decoding Bill Gates
“This three-part documentary tells Bill Gates’ life story, in-depth and unfiltered, as he pursues unique solutions to some of the world’s most complex problems.”
I learned a lot from this series. I hope you will watch this too.
Sugar Rush Christmas Edition
“Everything you love about “Sugar Rush” — with a holly jolly Christmas twist!”
This series is such a treat! I love food shows and Sugar Rush is definitely high on my list. If you have already watched this, you can try Zumbo’s Desserts or The Final Table.
The Witcher
“You can’t outrun destiny just because you’re terrified of it.”
I have mixed feelings about this series. I love the characters and the story but I want more. MORE. I can’t wait for season 2!
The Stranger
“We all have secrets. Based on the novel by Harlan Coben, The Stranger forces us to confront a question we all fear – how well do we really know the people closest to us?”
This series will keep you on your toes. It’s action after action, secrets after secrets. I just love it!
Virgin River
“Searching for a fresh start, a nurse practitioner moves from LA to a remote northern California town and is surprised by what — and who — she finds.”
I must admit that I liked this series more than I thought I would. I’m always down on watching series that features characters with medical background or in a medical setting because it takes me back to my happy memories as a nursing student.
The Bletchley Circle
“With an extraordinary flair for code breaking and razor-sharp intelligence skills, four seemingly ordinary women become the unlikely investigators in this original thriller series, set against the backdrop of post-war London.”
I’m currently watching this series as I took a break from The Circle Brazil. I’m on season 2 and I hope there’d be more episodes available on Netflix because I really love this series! It’s like CSI minus the lab examinations/autopsies and with four women. Like Nancy Drew x 4 🙂 If I can recommend only one series, I’d definitely recommend this one.
I’ve finished Virgin River, and Sugar Rush! I’ve started Locke and Key and it’s good so far! & I’d recommend Love is Blind! Very interesting.
I am almost 2 years late in responding but do you have any new recommendations? ☺️
