Can you believe it’s already July?!
I haven’t written a lot lately because, one, I’ve been stuck in a rut for months when I lost my full time job at the start of the lockdown. Two, I have been cooking like crazy since everyone’s at home, most (if not, all) of the time. Then I got part time jobs, which I’m very grateful for, so I’ve been easing my way back into work mode again. Sadly, it’s not that easy. But doable.
I have also been redecorating and rearranging our house and bedroom so I thought I should write about how you can decorate your home during quarantine (without spending too much!). The good thing is, you can freshen up your home’s dΓ©cor scheme just by switching the accessories in different rooms.
Or you can order online through Shopee and #stayhome π
Here are some affordable and stylish items you can decorate your home this quarantine:
Hanging Plant Holder
I couldn’t keep count on how many plants we have at home since my sister has been buying a lot of plants lately (a craze that most people in my city are currently in LOL). But if you’re looking for another way to show or store your plants, using a hanging pot holder is very stylish. It’s also a nice way for your plants to get some sun. And it works very well in small spaces too.
3D Wall Stickers
Another decor hack that I really like is adding a wallpaper. But it doesn’t have to be the plain, printed ones. I LOVE Brick walls. And I love DIY-ing. And if you’re like me, you’d love the 3D Wall Stickers that you can easily shop now. I couldn’t find it in the mall though.

Anti-Slip Carpet
Anti Slip Carpets will help prevent falls and slipping especially if there are children and seniors in your home. And it can also add beauty to any room in your house. You can place it in your bedroom, in the kitchen and in your living room.
Since most of us are working from home nowadays, I definitely recommend adding a carpet under your working table. I don’t know why but it helped me be more focused as I feel like I’m in my working space. I always choose a carpet that would extend past my chair and table so I’m in like my invisible bubble and be on work mode.
Printed Curtains
Plain, tan or brown curtains were always my thing but lately I’ve been eyeing on tropical print designs and how it adds a lovely touch to our bedroom. With all this plant hype going on, I think I’d be seeing a lot of tropical prints in different decors.
I’m planning to tropical-fy our room and I already found monstera-printed pillowcases, bedsheets and blankets. I think everyone could use a touch of nature in their homes these days.
Iron Storage Baskets
Organize your home using storage baskets so you’ll easily find everything. You can store your keys, pens, nail cutter (this one tends to be lost whenever you need it!), makeup, chargers and accessories. They also double as home decors if you place them on counters or on your desk table.
You can also use storage baskets for your toiletries, your kids’ small toys and journaling tools.
Origami Shaped Vase
I’ve always love origami-making so it’s really cool to see an origami-inspired vase. Vases guarantee the growth of plants and flowers inside your home which is why it’s a great addition to any table in your house.
I’m not the flower-type but flowers make me happy. If you’re still contemplating whether to buy flowers or not, here’s a great article about 8 Amazing Benefits of Having Flowers in Your Home. I learned that flowers reduce stress, lightens up your mood, increases the level of compassion you have for another person, boost your memory and some can eve help you sleep (hello, lavender!).
Moon Lamp (Night Light)
I use my Himalayan Pink Salt lamp as my night light but it’s a bit big and brighter so this moon lamp is a great alternative to it. Nightlights can sometimes impair your sleep especially the bright ones.
I’m a light-sleeper but I also like to have a little bit of light at night so it won’t be so dark if I woke up and need to go to the bathroom.
This moon lamp is ideal for those who simply want a nice relaxing soft light. It emits a soft white glow that really does look like moonlight.
