*And I’m speaking both from a Social Media Manager and consumer’s perspective. 😅
Digital Marketing has skyrocketed for the past months (maybe 2 years now) thanks to the pandemic.
When cities were on lockdown, people restricted to travel, some businesses had sadly closed while others have been thriving online.
I’ve never had more inquiries and job invitations on UpWork and LinkedIn until the pandemic as businesses enter the work of digital marketing, finally!
I have always wanted to work in the travel niche and this year I worked with a travel and tours company as their Social Media Consultant.
I just finished putting together a 3-month report and the data was astounding.
A lot of growth in their Facebook Page and a steady growth in their Instagram Page.
And this is why YOUR business should be MORE active on social media if you aren’t already.
Most people are on their phones, even students as online classes have become the new norm, so if you’re ready to bring your business in the digital world, or if you’re stuck in your digital marketing, read on.
You can reach *ALMOST* everyone in social media
There are now more than 4.2 billion active social media users across the globe and if you’re not on social media, you’re missing out on A LOT of reach.
Just by simply publishing a post on social could help people be aware of your brand. It’s fast and very effective way to reach your potential customers.
However, social platforms have been changing over time so you need to tweak your strategy and what works and what doesn’t.
I have hit a block lately with reach because of the new features that have been rolling out since last year and I have to work TEN times in order to get more reach and engagement.
Social platforms have been pushing the use of advertisements for brands so that’s another area to look into.
You have the ability to create real human connections and build trust
Trust is a huge thing more than people realize. As a consumer, I only use products from brands that I trust. And one thing that makes me buy a product or service is when I could find info about it/them online. I love reading reviews on social platforms because they’re raw and unfiltered, especially those that are not sponsored, because let’s face it, when you’re doing a sponsored post, you’ll focus on all the great things about a product.
Show your behind-the-scenes, create meaningful communication in your comments section and introduce your products before they hit the market. All sounds so simple but not everyone is doing it.
It’s 2022 and not everyone still understands social media. I still see businesses post images or videos not optimized for the platforms they’re on.
Use social media for your brand like how you should be using it, be social.
It offers the opportunity to establish your brand as a thought leader
Imagine this: you are looking for a female coach to help you reach your fitness goals. You turn to social media to find the best fitness coach that fits your needs. You find two coaches but one is more active on social media. Her page is active with updated posts, exercise videos and it seems like her posts are directly talking to you. The other coach on the other hand has lesser posts and haven’t shared one for months. But two coaches are actively offering their services. Which on would you pick?
When you’re on social media, you can establish yourself as a thought leader in your niche. And most brands that have been tagged as the “thought leaders” in their niche are those we see as successful brands.
You can grow a community around your brand
Groups, forums, group chats, these are just three out of the many ways you can build a community around your products and brands.
I love joining groups and forums because I get to hear experiences from real people. This is a win-win for a brand as they can use the best reviews as testimonials and the bad reviews as feedback to improve their service or product.
Why you need a Social Media Manager for your business
I have worked with different brands and entrepreneurs and they usually come to me with the same dilemma. They don’t have time running their socials. Or they don’t have any idea what to do on Facebook or Instagram.
And trust me, whether you’re a start-up, a booming business, a brand on-the-making, or a an online business, if you want to grow and thrive in the digital world, you’ll benefit with having a social media manager.
