βWhen we feel the constriction of being pulled a million directions at once, when we feel the disappointment of ourselves or the ones we love when we’re unable to show up in the way we intended or perhaps had previous planned to, when we feel the direction of the day going in a way we hadn’t originally hoped or intended, begin again.” – Kalyn Nicholson
Begin again. Easier said than done. But doable.
There are so many things I could write about this year, so many stories I could tell and share, so many thoughts to organize, so many plans to take action to, but most times, I fail to do what I needed to do because I get distracted.
I think about work when I’m done working. I think about where I want to travel when I just got home from a vacation. I keep scrolling on social media and find beautiful things & places and sometimes fail to appreciate what I already have and where I am.
Breathe. Relax. Begin again.
Interrupted sleep, sore muscles, negative thoughts, these are my companion when I let stress control my vibe. But I firmly believe we have the power to breathe and let go anything that weighs us down.
Missed workouts, spending outside your budget, dealing with difficult relatives, losing a job, no matter what you’re going through, breathe. Relax. Begin again.
Resetting your body.
I learned about “body scan” while listening to a guided meditation. I don’t do it as often as I should but I find myself relaxed after doing a body scan.
I hope you won’t take my word for it and instead try it for yourself.
Sit or lie down in a comfortable position, close your eyes and take a deep breath. I like to do this with a relaxing music and then I start to scan my body and find parts of me that are sore and feel tight.
We’ve become so accustomed to our body that we take for granted what it can do and be grateful for each part.
I thank my fingers and hands because without them I wouldn’t be able to type easily or create art. I am grateful for my legs and feet because I could walk and run. I thank every single cell in my body because without them, I wouldn’t be functioning well. It may sound silly but it would definitely make a change in your life if you are grateful for what you have.
Self-care is something we shouldn’t feel guilty about. Get a massage. Take some time off. Travel on your own. Distance yourself from things and people that steal your peace. This is hard. But it needs to be done.

Resetting your Soul.
What’s your soul food? What makes you feel at peace? What makes you happy?
Take a break from the distractions of the world and enjoy every little moment of every single day.
Let go of anything that makes your heart heavy. Let go of your past mistakes. Let go of the failures and be present.
What kind of moments bring you joy? Keeping your eyes peeled for moments like this is the perfect way to reset your soul.
Discover more about yourself and what makes you happy. Get excited about the possibilities this New Year brings!

Resetting your Mind.
How many thoughts cross your mind every day? How many past situations did you recreate again and again last night?
Show negative thoughts the way out and embrace positive ones with open arms.
Outside your bubble and comfort zone can be a draining place, so don’t be afraid to take a break. Take a break from work, from your responsibilities, from the distractions, from social media. Take time to sit quietly and look for things to be grateful for.
“Once you allow yourself to peel back the layers, you may find that your mind, soul and body just needed to recharge.”
